Our Heroes: E.M.T.'s

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) are on the scene when accidents happen. Their cool heads and quick thinking can mean the difference between life and death.

EMTs need physical flexibility and strength because you must be able to bend, kneel, and lift heavy weights.  Your ability to quickly size up a situation and provide the proper help is also important.  EMTs must be team players with strong compassion for people.

If you're interested in healthcare, starting out as a volunteer EMT is a great way to find out if a career as a registered nurse, physician, or other health worker is right for you.

To prepare yourself for tomorrow, take advantage of the training and experience you can get today from volunteering - and help your community at the same time.
