When Steve Tilley isn't busy caring for his church members and his family, he's a volunteer emergency medical techncian with Bassett Rescue Squad. Heroes are everyday people like Steve - and you. All it takes is a desire to help. Training is free and it could change your life. Just ask Steve. Call 634-4660. In the right place at the right time, you can make a difference.
Steve Tilley is a full-time minister, husband, father, and grandfather who grew up in Henry County. He became a volunteer to provide emergency medical services in 1996 because he had "a love for people and desire to help those less fortunate." Steve's whole family is proud of his volunteer work. He has made a special impression on his children, who admire the calm and courage it takes to lend a helping hand during emergencies that would rattle most people. When Steve talks to people who are thinking about volunteer work, he asks them to consider how they value life. If it's as important to them as it is to Steve and his colleagues on the rescue squad, the choice becomes pretty clear.
